Tami's Place for Hair & Wellbeing

ABOUT ME

I affectionately refer to myself as a Wellbeing Junkie. I have had a long and windy road to present day ‘Tami,’ and the road is still winding. I am all about what is known as the ‘messy middle.’

In early years I learned that I value honesty and transparency above all else. And if I have a ‘True North,’ transparency may be it.

Tami Holtan

In short, I lift myself up and help others to do the same. I do this by experimenting in all areas of my life. I will do anything in the name of joy, growth, and wellbeing. Anything that teaches me to live my juiciest ‘best’ life, any place the journey takes me. As I do that, some things hold true and others fall away. My commitment to you and to the process, is that I am transparent along the way. I am still not certain what all of this looks like, or what I am going to be when I grow up, but I am certain of a few things:

  • I have a lot of life experience, and plenty of it isn’t pretty.

  • I have a knack for connecting with others, and an ability to look at things from a variety of vantage points.

  • I find the intersection between pragmatism and dreams.

  • I have my feet on the ground, and my head in the clouds.

  • I meet people where they are at, and help them achieve their lifestyle goals.

  • I have been uncomfortable my whole life, but I am learning to be uncomfortable in the ways that serve me best.

  • If you are willing to be uncomfortable, I can get you unstuck.

  • Most people are not willing to be uncomfortable. Not by choice.

  • I have been told I do great hair.

What does this mean for you? How can I help?

I share in a variety of ways about my ongoing journey, and I provide a variety of services.

I was born and raised and live in Minneapolis MN, with strong connections through family and experiences to the rural parts of the state. Some challenges growing up created a drive in me to seek out new experiences. I am a ‘jill of all trades’ with a Bachelor of Art History degree from the University of MN, Morris, and a Cosmetology degree from the Aveda Institute. I am a Self-Employed Stylist, in my exclusive home salon, the original ‘Tami’s Place.’ At Tami’s Place I provide inside-out beauty services that include Wellbeing Coaching, Hair and Beauty services, and Biodynamic Anthroposophic skincare. I am a practicing yogi, and a yoga and mindfulness teacher. I am also a wellness coordinator working with seniors at the YMCA . I write and host Wellbeing workshops, and have assisted on 2 international travel retreats. I also partner with an organic superfood company, to provide nutritional support. My passions include family, cabin, nature, fashion, vintage, travel, writing, cooking, and any and all things lifestyle! It is my straight up dream to write my book, and travel the world on a book tour! (Just putting it out there universe!)

Currently in the ‘householder’ phase of life, I do what I can to juggle my passions and my work into one crazy mix, that allows me to continue to live, work, grow, and share. My foundation is my family, but they know that my growth contributes to their happiness, and so we all march on, together! But if push comes to shove, I choose them first!

‘But yield who may to their separation, my object in living is to unite my vocation with my avocation, as my two eyes make one in sight. Only where love and need are one, and the work is play for mortal stakes, is the deed ever really done, for heaven and the future’s sakes.’

Robert Frost

Check out my blog, for more stories from my journey. Check out my services for tangible ways that we can get in touch and work together. I am always open to new opportunities and experiences, especially ones that involve travel. If you know a way that we can work together, I would love to hear about it! Stay tuned for ‘Tami’s Favorites,’ links to my favorite goods and services for sale.

We all do our best, by becoming our best and helping others to do the same. My message is, yes you can, and you should and you must! And it better be fun, at least mostly!
